Therapy helps you find stability and enhances coping. Mindset coaching helps you thrive and reach your potential. Therapy focuses on mental health and deals primarily with healing past traumas. Mindset coaching is concerned with closing the gap between dreams and reality and deals with the present and future. I am still interested in what life experiences have brought you to where you are now. But the goal during coaching is not to go back, address it, or heal it. Instead, it's just referenced. What we are working on in coaching is: Where are you now, and where do you want to be? What self-limiting beliefs are holding you back from getting there?
Imagine a scale that reaches from minus ten to plus ten. The range between zero to minus ten would be where therapy might be beneficial or needed. The range between zero to plus ten would be where coaching could benefit you. Consider how you generally feel, how successfully or unsuccessfully you tackle challenges, how harmonious or troubled your relationships are and how fulfilled or happy you are.
